I have worked for Jakes Fireworks since 1993. I started by helping build assortments and picking up trash after school. When I was 19 I took over as the warehouse manager of the Pittsburg warehouse. At that time it was the only warehouse facility that Jakes Fireworks had in the country. We were a small enough company back then that I took off and managed a number of our retail locations in Oklahoma once the fireworks retailing season started. I managed the warehouse and those retail locations for several years before moving into an office position. Once I moved to the office I started as the head of invoice and pricing. We eventually decided, as a company, that we wanted add our first distribution center somewhere in the south and started researching where the best fit for us would be. We settled on Athens, Texas and began to build our warehouse facility there in early 2003 and had it opened for the 2003 4th of July season. I have ran that distribution center ever since.

In my years in the fireworks industry, as you can see, I have done virtually every job imaginable on both the wholesale and the retail end of the business. This by no means makes me an expert; however I strive to learn more about this industry every day so that I can pass as much useful information to our customers as possible. I have cherished the relationships that I have been fortunate enough to make with my customers over these years and look forward to making more in the future.
